What is Odoo?

Odoo is a modular and scalable open-source business management software (ERP — Enterprise Resource Planning), published by the Belgian company Odoo SA. Odoo Compliance with Swiss Standards

This is precisely where our dual fiduciary + Odoo competence makes all the difference. We do not merely install Odoo: we configure it to be immediately compliant with Swiss legal and accounting requirements.

Swiss SME Chart of Accounts (KMU/PMC)

Odoo comes with a generic chart of accounts. We replace it with the Swiss SME chart of accounts (formerly Käfer), structured in classes 1 to 9, compliant with articles 957 to 964 of the Code of Obligations. Each account is configured with the correct tax properties and appropriate VAT mappings.

Swiss VAT — Automated AFC Declarations

The Swiss VAT has three main rates since 1 January 2024:

  • Standard rate: 8.1% (the vast majority of supplies)
  • Special hotel rate: 3.8% (accommodation)
  • Reduced rate: 2.6% (foodstuffs, books, medicines, newspapers)

We configure all VAT codes in Odoo, mappings by type of supply and exemption rules. Odoo's VAT declaration module automatically generates the compliant AFC return form (Federal Tax Administration), which you simply need to validate and submit.

QR-Invoice with QR-IBAN

Since 1 October 2022, the QR-invoice is mandatory for payments in Switzerland. Odoo natively generates invoices with the Swiss QR code, integrating the QR-IBAN, amount, reference and bank details. Receipt of payments via QR-IBAN is also managed through bank statement imports (camt.054).

Swissdec 5.0 for Payroll

Swissdec is the Swiss standard for the electronic exchange of payroll data between companies and institutions (AHV compensation funds, withholding tax, FSO). Odoo Enterprise integrates Swissdec 5.0 certification, enabling direct electronic transmission of payroll declarations, generation of salary certificates (official form) and withholding tax declarations by canton.

Bank Payments — pain.001 & camt.054

Odoo handles Swiss and SEPA banking standards:

  • pain.001: standard XML format for sending payment orders to your bank (PostFinance, UBS, Raiffeisen, etc.)
  • camt.054: bank account statements for automatic reconciliation of received payments
  • camt.053: balance and movement statements for bank reconciliation

These integrations considerably reduce manual entry and payment errors.

Swiss GAAP FER / CO / IFRS

Depending on the size and obligations of your company, we configure Odoo to comply with:

  • CO accounting law (art. 957-964): minimum framework applicable to all Swiss companies
  • Swiss GAAP FER (Accounting and Reporting Recommendations): for companies subject to ordinary audit or wishing for accounts giving a reinforced true and fair view
  • IFRS: for international groups or Swiss subsidiaries of listed groups

Multi-Currency CHF / EUR / USD

As Switzerland sits at the heart of Europe, many SMEs invoice in EUR and USD in addition to CHF. Odoo natively handles multi-currency with automatically updated exchange rates (via SNB rates or other sources), automatic revaluation of foreign currency items at year-end and financial reports in the CHF reference currency.

Multi-Company

If you manage several legal entities (group of companies, holdings, subsidiaries), Odoo allows you to manage all of them in a single instance with separate access rights, inter-company consolidation and automatic elimination of intra-group transactions.
